Elevate your meetings in Whistler
Incentive programming that impresses — elevating your next reward program in Whistler.
Been there. Haven’t done that! With its storybook mountain setting, luxury resorts and fabled golf and ski, Whistler is a natural reward for top producing teams. Thanks to the Canadian dollar hovering 25 to 30% below the U.S. dollar, planners can now enhance events with more bells and whistles. Here are some of our Whistler favourites:
Create a memorable sense of arrival
Most groups choose the two-hour drive from Vancouver, along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway. With glimpses of ferries and waterfalls and magnificent soaring mountains it’s dubbed one of the world’s best drives by National Geographic.
Elevate your group’s arrival, literally. From May to October scheduled floatplane service transports top achievers from Vancouver’s Inner Harbour to a secluded mountain lake at Whistler’s edge. Along the 30-minute flight path: Vancouver’s iconic Lion’s Gate bridge, picturesque Howe Sound, BC’s Gulf Islands, and glacier-capped peaks of the Coastal Mountains.
It’s not uncommon for incentives to kick-off their Whistler experience with a welcome event at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. Floor to ceiling windows and views of Garibaldi mountains punctuate aboriginal art work, weavings, canoes, carvings and other interesting artifacts. While traditional programming tends to include a welcome by First Nation’s cultural ambassadors, we recommend elevating the experience, beginning with your departure from the hotel. An escorted precession between hotel and Cultural Centre, in full regalia, leaves everyone mesmerized. The cultural exchange continues with a powerful singing and drumming performance upon arrival at the hall. Memorable events are elevated with a 15-minute interpretive performance of indigenous spirit animals told in song and stories.
Reach for the summit
Where once awards celebrations were confined to hotel ballrooms, today’s planners are taking their gala events to the mountaintop! Whistler’s Roundhouse, to be specific. This exquisite venue is perched 1,850 m. | 6,069 ft. above sea level at the summit of Whistler Mountain. Sip cocktails and dine above a sea of mountains, and celebrate in gala style. The venue can accommodate up to 250 for a banquet, or, for a more casual affair, 1,500 for a heavy reception, and 600 for a buffet.
