Calgary TELUS Convention Centre Engages European Meeting Planners with new Hire

The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC) has announced the addition of Sue Wilkes, International Business Development Manager — Europe to their team. Operating in-market from London, UK, Wilkes will engage the European market to generate new client opportunities for CTCC and the city of Calgary. The international and European market provides the most economic impact to Calgary through their delegate’s spend. It also brings rich intellectual capital and business opportunity in the form of return leisure visits and investment.

“We know the CTCC is the perfect fit for many of the international association meetings and conventions headquartered in the European market,” says Clark Grue, President and CEO of CTCC. “Having Sue represent our centre and city on the ground in Europe is a huge asset to us.”

Wilkes’ background includes previous positions with the Chicago, US and Gold Coast and Sydney, Australia convention bureaus.

“From my short time here, I can see why Calgary was named the fourth most livable city in the world,” enthused Wilkes. “With my background and the leg work that has already been done by the CTCC in Europe, we are in a fantastic position to gain momentum.”
