Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) Appoints Canadian Head of SITE Global Events
Event producer, published author and event design instructor, Tahira Endean, CMP, DES, CED, will lead strategy and event production for SITE’s global events from her Vancouver, Canada office.
SITE, the only global organization dedicated to the incentive travel industry, has some 2,300+ members in 29 chapters and 84 countries. Founded in 1973, the organization raises awareness of the economic and human impact of incentive programs as a tool to recruit and retain top talent and motivate performance. Their research, trend analysis, and education series are presented at signature events across the globe.
An instructor of special event planning and sustainable event operations at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) School of Business, Endean’s impressive resumé includes producing events across the globe for DMCs, incentive houses, and Olympic sponsors, and authoring Intentional Event Design, Our Professional Opportunity, the definitive guide to designing events that engage and deliver return on investment (ROI) for the host organization. Endean, says SITE and SITE Foundation CEO, Didier Scaillet (CIS, CITP), is a welcome addition to the team.
“Having industry professionals like Tahira join our management team is incontrovertible proof of our legacy, reputation and future direction. We are definitely in good hands and this strengthened team will ensure our continued growth and relevance into the future.”
Active as a volunteer committee member and past guest speaker at the Incentive Research Foundation Invitational, Endean kept her hand in incentive events even as she built the #BCTECH Summit over the past three years. She is looking forward to creating meaningful and engaging experiences that educate, inform and help grow SITE’s membership. For Endean, this means working with a team of partners and volunteers to weave a singular story arc between all SITE global events.
“Our participants across the series of events are senior level planners and partners who are well versed in the power of well-designed incentive travel. Our role is to ensure we are providing the education they can’t get elsewhere that supports their needs,” says Endean.
Canada for Incentives
Incentive Travel is the fastest growing segment of the meetings, conventions and incentive travel (MCIT) market with a per delegate spend averaging US$4,000, per person. Canada, with its legendary destinations and experiences, and luxury retreats and resorts, is a natural choice for high-end incentive programs that embrace adventure and the transformational experiences found across the country. Endean will be able to put her extensive event planning experience and love of her home country to good use as she works with Canadian partners to plan the upcoming SITE Incentive Summit Americas in Whistler in 2019, and the SITE Global Conference in Vancouver in 2020.
“While I have planned incentive events in destinations around the world, western Canada as my home base is a destination where I am familiar with the magic we can deliver, and I can’t wait to share this special place with our participants over the coming year.”
